Is it a bot, a signal service or a copy-trading feed?

No. It never decides what to trade. You choose the instrument, direction and stop; Dixpliner sizes the order from your risk rule, places the target from your R:R, and blocks it if a rule fails. The only automation is the one you configure: auto-breakeven, pending-order timeouts, and copying to your own alias accounts.

Do I need to change broker?

No. You keep your existing broker and your existing account. Dixpliner connects to it: MetaTrader 5 accounts get a dedicated containerised terminal, cTrader accounts connect through the official Open API with OAuth.

Which markets does it cover?

Accepted Answer

Forex and CFDs today: any instrument your MT5 or cTrader broker lists, from majors to indices, metals, energies and crypto CFDs. Futures support is in development and will use the same rules; leave your email on the list and we will tell you when it opens.

Does it work with a demo account?

Yes. Connect a demo the same way as a live account. It is a good way to see the blocks happen before you put a funded account behind it.

How long does setup take?

Onboarding writes your first plan in five screens. Connecting an MT5 account provisions a dedicated instance, which takes about a minute. cTrader is an OAuth login. Most people are trading through Dixpliner within ten minutes.

Which platforms and devices?

The app runs in the browser on desktop and mobile. MetaTrader 5 and cTrader are the supported broker platforms.

Can I change my rules when I need to?

On weekends (UTC) or between 21:00 and 22:00 GMT on weekdays, yes. Every other hour the plan is read-only. If loosening a limit were possible at 11:37 on a Tuesday while you are down 4%, the limit would not be a limit.

What happens when I hit the daily loss limit with positions still open?

No new orders for the rest of the day. Open positions stay open and you can still close them or tighten their stops. What you cannot do is widen a stop to a level where the worst-case daily P&L would breach the limit.

Does a winning day use up my daily loss budget?

Accepted Answer

No. Only realised losses count against it. A day that is +2% closed has the full budget available, minus the risk on whatever is still open.

What counts as an open position for the cap?

Accepted Answer

A position still at risk, meaning its stop is on the losing side of entry. Once the stop is at or beyond entry, whether you moved it or auto-breakeven did, the position stops counting.

What is candle confirmation?

Accepted Answer

An optional rule that only allows entries in the first 20% of the current candle on a timeframe you choose, from M1 to D1. It stops the late entry taken because price “is already moving”. When the window has passed, the ticket shows a countdown to the next candle.

What happens when I reach a profit target?

Trading stops for the day or the week, including trades copied to alias accounts. Open positions can still be managed, but only with edits that reduce risk or secure profit. Widening a stop or pushing a target further is refused.

Can I trade instruments outside my list?

Accepted Answer

No. The ticket only offers the instruments on your allowed list. You can extend the list in the settings window.

What stops me from opening MT5 and trading directly?

Nothing stops you trying; you still own your credentials. But the discipline monitor scans the account every minute. Any position Dixpliner did not place is closed and logged, ten points come off your discipline score, and the account is locked for a week. A weekly sweep of the deal history catches trades that opened and closed between scans, so “quick and back” does not work either.

What if I change my broker password?

Dixpliner loses the connection and cannot enforce anything, which is why the external-trade lock is a full week rather than a day. If you trade around it for an afternoon and reconnect, the history sweep finds the trades and the lock applies. The point is to make the workaround cost more than the rule.

What is the broker 2FA vault?

An optional feature for brokers and prop firms that use an authenticator app. You store the seed in Dixpliner, encrypted, and the login code is only shown during the settings window. Mid-week you cannot log into the terminal at all, because you cannot get the code. First-time setup is allowed at any time.

Can I reset my discipline score?

Only during the settings window. The score is meant to be a record of the week, not something you clear after a bad afternoon.

Does moving a stop by hand in the terminal count as a violation?

Yes. Manual stop or target edits made at the broker are detected and logged as violations, the same as an external trade.

MT5 or cTrader: what is the difference in how they connect?

MT5 accounts run inside a dedicated containerised terminal on your own server instance with its own IP; Dixpliner holds the login to keep it running. cTrader accounts connect through the official Open API with OAuth, so Dixpliner never sees your cTrader password and you can revoke access from cTrader at any time.

Can I connect more than one account?

Yes. Each account gets its own copy of the plan, so tightening one never touches another. Accounts can also be linked as master and alias for copy trading.

Where are my credentials stored?

Encrypted at rest, and used only to maintain the connection to your own account. Each account runs in an isolated instance rather than a shared pool. 2FA seeds in the vault are write-only: they are never returned, only the current code during the window.

What does “dedicated IP” actually mean?

Your MT5 terminal runs in its own container on its own server, with an IP address no other trader uses. It is designed to reduce the shared-IP conflicts that flag traders on pooled VPS providers. It is not a compliance guarantee: firms set their own terms on third-party tools and hosting, and those terms change, so verify your firm’s current rules before connecting.

Does this work with prop-firm challenges?

It is built for them. Daily loss caps, drawdown, trading windows and consistency rules all map onto plan rules. You mark the account as Challenge or Funded and record the firm’s caps next to your own plan.

How do I protect a payout?

Set a payout pause on the account: no new trades until the date you chose. Combine it with a weekly profit target so the account stops the moment it is green enough.

Will it pass the challenge for me?

No. It enforces your plan; it has no plan of its own. If your strategy loses inside the rules, Dixpliner will let it lose inside the rules.
